Founded in 1978, Gifft Hill School is a non-profit independent school located on the island of St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands. The school serves toddler-age students through 12th graders.

Gifft Hill School engaged Metropulos Group starting in 2020 to manage its annual fund to increase giving and further bolster the school’s fundraising efforts. The Metropulos Group conducted an in-depth analysis of the school’s current fundraising practices, donor base, and potential for growth. The analysis helped identify areas for improvement and develop a tailored strategy for increasing the school’s fundraising capacity.

The Metropulos Group worked closely with the Head of School at Gifft Hill School and the Board of Trustees to identify and engage potential major donors, both within the local community and beyond. We utilized various channels, including personal meetings, events, and targeted communications, to build meaningful relationships and nurture donor commitments.

We have provided ongoing support throughout the annual fund and the start of the Comprehensive Campaign, assisting with donor stewardship, coordinating fundraising efforts, and leveraging technology to streamline the donation process.

Gifft Hill School engaged the Metropulos Group to fully manage their Advancement operation including soliciting donors, researching prospects, updating their donor management system, and working with the board while also recently leading the creation of their new $20 million Comprehensive Campaign to support the Annual Fund, Endowment, and Capital Needs.

Fishermen from the community of Port Clyde founded the Maine Coast Fishermen’s Association (MCFA) in 2006 as the Midcoast Fishermen’s Association with the goal of improving fisheries management to better serve midcoast Maine’s inshore fishermen. MCFA’s founding members, fishermen who spent their lives on the water, viewed creating an organization as a way to amplify their voice in the world of fisheries policy, and more importantly, as a way to protect their communities and way of life.

The Maine Coast Fishermen’s Association worked shoulder-to-shoulder with The Metropulos Group for over 3 years to strengthen the organization’s annual fund, solicit donor prospects, manage their database, and update their website.

We also assisted with targeted social media ad campaigns related to online merchandise and created their database in Network for Good that wen from less than a few hundred contacts to now over 9,500 contacts!

Increased donor retention rate to over 25% while helping secure 3,189 donations from 2,014 donors to date. Prior to our involvement and their founding, MCFA had received 776 donations from 465 donors.
